R3 Attends Mt. Soledad’s 2nd Annual Women’s History Brunch

La Jolla, CA – The Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial recently hosted its 2nd Annual Women’s History Brunch, honoring over 140 servicewomen spanning 80+ years of service. Thanks to the generous table sponsorship from R3 Strategic Support Group, the event was a tremendous success, and the women in military service received the recognition they so richly deserve.

Diana Castillo, Jessica Henry, and Nilia Carreno from R3 were in attendance and showed their appreciation for the service of those being honored. The event was held on March 23, 2023, at the Mount Soledad National Veterans Memorial in La Jolla, CA.

The Guest of Honor for the 2nd Annual Women’s History Brunch was WWII Marine Corps Veteran Randy Tidmore. Randy, who recently turned 101 years old, was presented with a Veteran Honor Plaque in recognition of her remarkable service to her country.

The Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial is a United States National Memorial, and it is not federally funded. It is maintained by the Mt. Soledad Memorial Association Inc., supported solely through Memberships, Donations, and Plaque sales. The 2nd Annual Women’s History Brunch was a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by servicewomen throughout history, and the importance of supporting organizations like the Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial.

R3 welcomes Bob Baughman

We are excited to have Bob Baughman join the R3 team.  Bob recently retired from the United States Navy after 32 years of service as a Special Operations Officer and Master EOD Technician.  He has a diverse background in numerous functional areas including EOD, Mine Countermeasures and Mining, Diving and Salvage, Warfare Requirements, and Doctrine Development.  Bob began his Navy career in 1990 after graduating from the University of Maryland in College Park and obtaining a Commission through Officers Candidate School in Newport Rhode Island.

Bob has spent the majority of his tours in operational billets and has held leadership positions at every level to include Commanding Officer of EOD Mobile Unit FIVE, EOD Group ONE, and Task Force 75; Deputy Commander of NSW Group ONE and Deputy Commander of Combined Joint Task Force Troy in Iraq.  He has also completed numerous staff tours including Commander THIRD Fleet, Commander FIFTH Fleet, Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command, and Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center.

Bob was also the first EOD recipient of the Vice Admiral James Bond Stockdale Award for Inspirational Leadership and will be supporting the Navy EOD Leadership Continuum program as a co-facilitator.  Additionally, he will also provide the Navy EOD Group ONE Requirements department with a range of JCIDS support to help validate joint and expeditionary warfighting requirements.

Kyle Kirk Named 2023 Top 50 Black Leaders of Influence Honoree

R3 is honored to learn that Kyle Kirk was selected as one of San Diego Business Journal’s 2023 Top 50 Black Leaders of Influence! Kyle joined R3 in 2018, rising from Instructor to Project and now Program Manager overseeing high-risk training for Special Operations military units. He retired from the Navy after 26 years as a Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician, serving in the Global War on Terrorism, and making multiple combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. A Project Management Professional, he mentors transitioning military service members and leads complex Department of Defense contract support programs.

Kyle will be honored by the San Diego Business Journal in association with the Central San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce at an awards ceremony on February 28, 2023. We are proud to see his commitment and dedication recognized in this public forum across all business sectors in San Diego.
