R3 Awarded EOD Group TWO Logistics and Technical Support contract

R3 was recently awarded a $19.9 million, five-year, 32-person EOD Logistics and Technical Support contract at EOD Group TWO.  The support entails providing Expeditionary Logistics Support (ELO) across all EOD mission areas, accounting, documentation, data entry, movement, receipt, and issue of equipment and material as well as providing SME, coordination of material efforts, and related technical services.  The work is accomplished at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek / Fort Story in Virginia Beach at EOD Group TWO and its subordinate commands and includes travel to various operating location deployment sites in the continental United States (CONUS), Central & South America, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East to include Djibouti, Spain, and Bahrain.

Ron Orr, R3’s Program Manager, said “We are ecstatic to continue support for the EOD community. I’m especially excited about the new additions to the contract in Mobility, ELO support at the Mobile Units, Camp Facilities, and C5ISR.  Finally, we are appreciative of our team of quality employees that make these wins and additions possible and who have a long history of success supporting EOD.”

R3 welcomes Ryan Bedner

We are excited to have Ryan Bedner join the R3 team.  Ryan recently retired from the United States Navy after 28 years of service as a Special Operations Officer and Master EOD Technician.  He has a diverse background in numerous functional areas including EOD, Mine Countermeasures, Diving and Salvage, Joint Doctrine and Policy Development, and Naval Education and Training Doctrine and Policy Development and training delivery.

Ryan began his career in 1995 as a Surface Warfare Officer for two tours and then 23 years in the EOD career field.  He held operational positions globally and served on the Joint Staff in the J3 Directorate staffing requirements through the Secretary of Defense.  His last active-duty assignment was the Center for Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Diving.  He served as the Deputy Director, Executive Officer, and Director of Training executing the Secretary of the Navy responsibilities as the Department of Defense Executive Agent for individual training in EOD and Diving; delivering formal training to the Navy, Marine Corps, Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, select international countries, and government agencies.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the U.S. Naval Academy and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA from Webster University and is a member of the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, Next Step: Transition to Business (2023 Cohort).  Ryan will be supporting Maritime Expeditionary Security Force contracts leveraging his extensive training and doctrine experience and joins our growing Northwest Florida team.

R3 to Sponsor NEODA East/West Coast Golf Tourneys

R3 is thrilled to announce its sponsorship of two highly anticipated events organized by the Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Association (NEODA): The 2nd Annual Commodore’s Cup and the Tidewater Chapter’s 8th Annual Golf Tournaments, both taking place on May 26, 2023.

The Commodore’s Cup promises to be an exhilarating competition open to EODGRU1 staff, subordinate commands, retired Navy EOD, family, and guests. The golf tournament, held on the Admiral Baker Golf Course in San Diego, serves as a platform to foster camaraderie and promote excellence within the Navy EOD community.

Simultaneously, the Tidewater Chapter’s 8th Annual Golf Tournament will tee off on the east coast, at the NAS Oceana Hornet Course, allowing participants to enjoy a day of friendly competition while supporting a worthy cause. Open to NECC, EODGRU2 staff, subordinate commands, retired Navy EOD personnel, as well as their families and invited guests, this golf tournament provides an opportunity for attendees to connect, network, and raise funds for charitable initiatives supported by the NEODA.
