R3 to Sponsor Warriors Helping Warriors event

R3 is a proud Master Blaster Red sponsor of the 12th annual Warriors Helping Warriors event at Tackitt Family Vineyards in San Miguel, CA on Saturday, April 15, 2023. This family-friendly event brings together wounded warriors and their families, those who have lost their loved one on the battlefield, active duty and retired servicemen and women, longtime friends of the EOD Community, and residents and civic leaders to enjoy a day of bottling wine, great food, music, and friendship, all while supporting the EOD Warrior Foundation (EODWF).

The EODWF serves the EOD community by providing financial assistance and support to Active-Duty, Reserve and National Guard, Retired, and Veteran EOD technicians and their families. Their support includes financial assistance and additional services such as morale events, peer-to-peer support, educational programs, connections to resources, care of the EOD Memorial, and sustained contact with EOD warriors and their families. The Foundation believes that the EOD family is for life. Their ongoing mission is to disarm the challenges of the EOD family by providing support with compassion and caring to every individual they serve.

R3 Sponsors Mt. Soledad’s 2nd Annual Women’s History Brunch

R3 is proud to be a corporate sponsor of the Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial 2nd Annual Women’s History Brunch honoring women in military service. The event will be held at the Mount Soledad National Veterans Memorial on March 23, 2023. The Guest of Honor for the 2nd Annual Women’s History Brunch is WWII Marine Corps Veteran Randy Tidmore. She will be presented a Veteran Honor Plaque and celebrate her 101st Birthday!

At last year’s inaugural event, Memorial Association program manager Jennifer Givens, a Navy veteran and the granddaughter of a World War II and Korean War veteran.

“Women have served in every major war in American history. In the Revolutionary War, you had women that dressed as men to serve, you had women that served as nurses, women that followed their husbands into combat and picked up arms when need be. So before women could vote or have any rights as citizens, they served this nation. We have always served, whether we had the right to or not.”

Today, she said, “women are advancing and able to fill almost every role in the military. … Women are just as important as their male counterparts.”

R3’s Kyle Kirk honored at awards ceremony

R3’s Kyle Kirk was honored at the San Diego Business Journal’s 2023 Top 50 Black Leaders of Influence awards ceremony, in association with the Central San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce, on February 28, 2023. Kyle joined R3 in 2018, rising from Instructor to Project and now Program Manager overseeing high-risk training for Special Operations military units. He retired from the Navy after 26 years as a Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician, serving in the Global War on Terrorism, and making multiple combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.

 

Now a Project Management Professional, he mentors transitioning military service members and leads complex Department of Defense contract support programs.

Also in attendance to help celebrate Kyle’s achievement were R3’s Director of Operations and Security, Chris Merwin, and R3’s Human Resources Coordinator, Keanna Spencer. We are thrilled to see Kyle’s commitment and dedication recognized in this public forum across all business sectors in San Diego.
