6 August 2012, Norfolk, VA. R3 is pleased to announce the addition of Jeff Walker to our company. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 2012 with over 21 years of service as a Special Operations Officer and Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician. He served in a wide variety of assignments including diving and salvage, mine countermeasures, and Navy Reserve management. He completed tours of duty in Little Creek, VA; Whidbey Island, WA; Ingleside, TX; and Ft Story, VA with deployments to the Mediterranean, Western Pacific, Caribbean, Eastern Europe and Baghdad, Iraq. He twice served as a Commanding Officer, once within the EOD community as CO of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit TEN and then within the Reserve Force as CO of Navy Operational Support Center in Huntington, WV.
Jeff served a tour of duty in 2009 as the Future Operations Officer (J5) for Combined Joint Task Force Troy, the counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) brigade for Multi-National Corps Iraq. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Miami University and a Masters of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College as well as completing his certification as a Project Management Professional. Mr. Walker is also a graduate of the National Defense University Joint Forces Staff College and is qualified as a Joint Specialty Officer in addition to operational qualifications as a Salvage Diving Officer, Mine Countermeasures Staff Officer, and Naval Parachutist. He will serve in a number of capacities to include providing exercise and staff support to Navy Expeditionary Combat Command’s Expeditionary Training Group as well as joining our team at Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division’s (NAVEODTECHDIV) Technical Support Detachment (TSD) that is enabling the proponency of technical exploitation and institutionalization of its Combined Explosives Exploitation Cell (CEXC) to achieve a full operational capability (FOC) as mandated by the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff via a Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) Memorandum decision.
