Dean Muriano

Dean Muriano, Director, Southeast, joined R3 in summer 2023 as the Strategic Advisor, Southeast Region. Dean retired from the United States Navy after more than 31 years of service as a Special Operations Officer and Master EOD Technician. He has extensive experience leading complex and diverse organizations in high-stress environments, managing considerable financial accounts, and developing senior executives. Dean has a diverse background in numerous functional areas including EOD, Mine Countermeasures, Diving and Salvage, Operational Planning, Navy personnel supply chain management, doctrine and policy development, and training delivery.

Dean spent the majority of his tours in operational billets and held leadership and command at all levels within DoD to include Commodore EOD Group ONE – commanding all Pacific Fleet U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) & Deep-Sea Diving Forces; Commanding Officer Center for EOD and Diving – responsible for all Navy EOD and Diving Training and managing the Supply Chain for the EOD and ND ratings; Commanding Officer NAVSCOLEOD and Director of Training for Joint Service EOD training; Deputy Commander of Combined-Joint Task Force PALADIN at Bagram Afghanistan; and Commanding Officer EOD Mobile Unit SIX – deploying as Commander Combined-Joint Task Force PALADIN SOUTHWEST. He has also served on several high-level staffs, including as the Director of Maritime Operations at Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, as a Navy Legislative Fellow serving on Capitol Hill as part of a U.S. Senator’s staff, and as the Deputy Director of Strategy and Plans at COMUSNAVCENT/US Fifth Fleet.

Dean earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the U.S. Naval Academy and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Rhode Island as well as a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College. In his Strategic Advisor role, Dean leads R3’s business and partnership relationships in the Southeast region. He coordinates our growing Northwest Florida team bringing his extensive NECC and NETC experience to bear also supporting Maritime Expeditionary Security Force programs on both west and east coast.
