Sean Slappy

Sean Slappy was originally a member of the R3 Team from 2020-2021, managing the Navy EOD Leadership Continuum in support of Navy EOD Group (EODGRU) ONE and EOD Training and Evaluation Unit ONE.  He rejoined R3 in 2024, supporting EODGRU ONE’s N7 – Readiness and Training Department.  Sean is currently R3’s Program Manager for the Table of Allowance (TOA) Commodity Manager and N43 Maintenance Analyst projects.  Under the TOA Commodity Manager Project, Sean manages Diving Equipment and provides expeditionary diving & salvage expertise in support of EODGRU ONE’s N43 – Materiel Officer.

Sean is a former U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Officer with over 27 years of military and civilian experience training, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams.  His Navy assignments included: Chief Staff Officer of EODGRU ONE; Commanding Officer of Mobile Diving & Salvage Unit ONE; and, Executive Officer of EOD Mobile Unit SIX.  Sean qualified as an EOD Officer, Basic Diving Officer, Salvage Officer, Surface Warfare Officer, and Naval Parachutist.
