Gene Rathgeber

Gene Rathgeber serves as a Strategic Advisor and Senior Mentor to the CEO, Directors, and all Program and Project Managers. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 30+ years of Naval service where he earned the rank of Commander (O-5) and was a member of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) community. Career highlights included the establishment of a Forward Deployed EOD Mobile Unit in Bahrain during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Commanding an EOD Mobile Unit located in San Diego CA, and deploying this unit as a joint service EOD Battalion in support of Multi-National Corps Iraq.

During his career and especially the past twelve years, has dedicated his career to program management and the improvement of the EOD education and training environment. He has broad experience as an EOD Technician, EOD Officer, Counter-Improvised Explosive Device operations, Underwater Mine Countermeasures, and as a Subject Matter Expert in educational perspectives of instruction, remediation, curriculum development, certification, program management, and the leadership perspectives of supervising and managing individuals dedicated to EOD training. He has also spent numerous years in a classroom setting to obtain formal education to perform in the civilian capacity of a business administrator.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration and has been a Program Management professional since 2011 and is skilled at supervising all phases of project completion, including work plans, personnel management, forecasting, cost analysis & tracking, materials & equipment coordination, scheduling, reports & documentation, customer satisfaction, public relations, and regulatory compliance.

He joined the R3 Team in September of 2015 and worked his way up from a Project Manager to Director of West Coast operations prior to being promoted to Director of Operations and Security prior to assuming the Strategic Advisor role.
