R3 welcomes Greg Hubbard

R3 is also excited to welcome aboard Greg Hubbard. Greg retired from the U.S. Navy in 2013 as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Officer with over 20 years of service. His distinguished Navy career included a variety of global leadership assignments including service as the Commanding Officer of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit TWO and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Operational Support Unit TEN. Greg has deployed as the Commander of EOD, Diving, Force Protection, and Intelligence Exploitation Task Groups and as the Commander of the Underwater Mine Countermeasures (UMCM) Task Unit in CENTCOM. Greg also deployed as the Navy’s first Officer in Charge of the Combined Explosive Exploitation Cell (CEXC) in Afghanistan.

In addition to his multiple EOD deployments and command tours Greg brings tremendous training and staff experience. While assigned to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Greg supported Special Operations Command Pacific (SOCPAC) and U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM) staff with WMD counter proliferation efforts. Additionally Greg served as the Chief of the Attack the Network (AtN) Branch and C-IED Lead Action Officer at U.S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM).

Greg holds a Bachelor of Science in General Science from the United States Naval Academy and a Masters of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. Greg is a former Joint Qualified Officer, EOD Officer, Master EOD Technician, Navy Special Operations Officer, Basic Diving Officer, Surface Warfare Officer, and Naval Parachutist.

 

R3 welcomes John Coffey

R3 is excited to welcome aboard John Coffey.  John retired from the U.S. Navy in 2015 after completing 26 years of naval service.  John’s distinguished Navy career included a variety of worldwide leadership assignments including service as Commander, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group TWO, and Commanding Officer, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit TWO.  Additionally, John served as Deputy Commander, Joint Task Force Troy in Iraq, Commander, Task Group 56.1 in CENTCOM, and Commander, Joint Task Force Troy-North in Iraq.

John brings tremendous leadership and management talent to R3 as well as expertise in program and personnel management, resourcing, strategic and operational planning, and EOD and counter-IED operations.   In addition to his leadership assignments, John served on the Chief of Naval Operations Staff where he managed the Navy’s multi-billion dollar weapons budget, U.S. Fleet Forces Command where he oversaw the execution of the Navy’s Fleet Readiness Training Plan, and the Navy Personnel Command where he managed the assignment and distribution of the Navy’s Special Operations/EOD Officer community.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the United States Naval Academy, a Master of Arts in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island, and graduated with highest distinction from the Naval War College, where he earned a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies.  John will lead R3 tasks in support of NATO Allied Transformation Command’s C-IED division.

R3 awarded NATO Counter IED Program contract

R3 is pleased to announce the award of a two-year Counter IED Program support contract with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) through NATO’s Supreme Headquarters Allied Command Transformation (ACT).   R3 will be responsible for developing NATO’s Counter IED Plan and will also support the planning and execution of the C-IED Program across NATO nations, assist in establishing the processes and standards NATO ACTnecessary to underpin a C-IED effort and integration with other relevant NATO programs, and produce actionable solutions to near, medium and long-term capability shortfalls to countering asymmetric threats.   Our support includes the C-IED functional areas of Policy, Concept, Doctrine Development and Experimentation Support.  We will assist with assembly of future year’s programs and the C-IED Program’s normal daily operations, experimentation events and annual training plans.  R3’s Subject Matter Experts will focus in two main areas: Attacking The Network Operations and Defeating the Device.  We are excited to expand our long-standing support to US Department of Defense Counter IED organizations into NATO headquarters and member nations.
