R3 is proud to announce the award of a prime for EODGRU ONE at Naval Base Coronado, San Diego

R3 is proud to announce the award of a prime, firm fixed price contract with a one-year base and four option years for Armory Administrative and Logistics Support Services for EODESU ONEExplosive Ordnance Expeditionary Support Unit One (EODESU ONE) and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group One (EODGRU ONE) at Naval Base Coronado, San Diego, CA.

EODESU ONE plans, coordinates, integrates, synchronizes, and provides logistics support for EODGRU ONE and its subordinate EOD mobile units, salvage units, and training and evaluation unit.  Commanded by a Supply Corps Officer, the unit supports more than 1,200 Sailors and civilians that provide response capabilities in ordnance clearance, mine countermeasures, special operations, marine mammal systems, diving, and salvage operations.

R3’s support entails assisting with the safe stowage and security of over 36 different types of munitions that EODESU ONE manages.   Our services also includes the effective and efficient allocation of  ammunitions, weapons, and explosives between units/detachments to support missions and training for global operations and over 60 exercises per year whereby munitions are expended. EODESU ONE was commissioned in 2008 as part of the EOD Total Force Vision and Commander Navy Expeditionary Combat Command’s integrated strategy to transition logistics and maintenance functions from operational mobile unit commanders to a dedicated unit that is manned, trained and equipped to carry out these functions.  R3 is proud to support their mission via this Arms, Ammunition and Explosives support contract.

 

R3 was a proud sponsor of the 2016 EOD Group 2 Commodore’s Cup Golf Tournament

R3 was a proud sponsor of the 2016 EOD Group 2 Commodore’s Cup Golf Tournament which took place aboard NAS Oceana’s Aeropines Golf Course in Virginia Beach, VA.  EODMU2 Golf (1)Among those in attendance was Rear Admiral Frank Morneau, Commander, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (pictured second from right), and representing R3 was Richard Hastings (pictured far right).  Proceeds benefited the Navy EOD Association whose primary mission is to foster fraternal relationships between former and active duty members of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps EOD community.

R3 attended the 2016 Joint Undersea Warfare Technology Spring Conference

R3 attended the 2016 Joint Undersea Warfare Technology Spring Conference at Admiral Kidd Club in San Diego.   This secret conference emphasized the evolving role of mine countermeasures (MCM) in the broader context of the overall theme of “Assuring Undersea Dominance in an Era of Major Power Competition.”

R3’s Adam Guziewicz, an MCM SME and Program Manager, briefed during the Technical Session his paper on Doctrinal Implications of New Technologies/Tactics on Underwater MCM wherein he expounded on the role of unmanned undersea vehicles within the Navy EOD force, specifically within the emergence of the Expeditionary MCM concept.
