Ken Normand recognized by DDESB.

Ken Normand, Program Manager for R3’s Explosive Risk Mitigation Division, was recognized by Mr. John Lenox, Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board’s Director of Military Operations, with a Certificate of Appreciation for his efforts to identify and mitigate munitions-related risk at Ammunition Supply Points (ASPs) in South Korea.   The photo shows the international, inter-agency team that supported this effort.

R3 Named to National Association of Ordnance Contractors Board

R3 is pleased to have been selected by the National Association of Ordnance Contractors (NAOC) member companies to represent the organization as a Board Member for 2018-2019. Eleven Directors are elected by the more than 70 NAOC member companies at the annual membership meeting. NAOC was established in 1995 as a non-profit organization to act as a unified industry voice representing the issues facing its membership in the rapidly expanding business of military munitions response services.

The 21 founding members were UXO service companies. Over the years, membership has expanded to include companies that provide and perform ancillary services to include geophysical services, detection equipment, analytical laboratories, regulatory support and related environmental/engineering services. Our support to NAOC complements our longstanding role with the National Defense Industrial Association EOD Committee and our support to organizations facing unexploded ordnance threats.

R3 Sponsors Scott Dayton EOD Memorial 5K Event

R3 was proud to be a Master Technician Sponsor the Scott Dayton Memorial 5k Run / Walk on Saturday, November 18.  The enormously successful event hosted by Green Flash Brewing company had over 950 participants.  EOD Technicians, former Shipmates, friends, and family of EODCS Scott Dayton from across the country attended the event.

Opening ceremonies included remarks from VA Senator Bill DeSteph and VA Congressman Scott Taylor followed by the National Anthem sung by Country Music singer and former Navy EOD Technician Brian Grilli.  The run commenced with an amazing F-18 Hornet flyover in the missing man formation.   It closed with hugs, storytelling, laughter, tears; the kind of fellowship only found in an incredible community like Explosive Ordnance Disposal.
