R3 welcomes David Mummert

R3 is very excited to have David Mummert join the R3 team. David brings 25 years of military and private sector experience in EOD and special operations, including an extensive background in combatting weapons of mass destruction (WMD). A master EOD technician, David’s experience includes counterterrorism (CT)/counter-proliferation (CP) operations, improvised explosive device (IED) defeat operations, intelligence analysis, research and development of advanced EOD tools, tactics, techniques and procedures, and foreign materiel acquisition.

While on active duty, David served in a variety of operational and training EOD units overseas and in the United States. He also spent five years with the Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG) where he managed SOCOM- and DTRA- sponsored chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) warfare defense programs. He has extensive formal education in CBRN weapons and was responsible for the development of CBRN detection, sampling, decontamination, personal protective equipment, and training facilities for NSWDG. David planned and executed CT/CP activities and acted as the command liaison officer to the intelligence community. Since retiring from the Navy, he has worked in foreign material acquisition, tactical EOD training, and variety of program management roles.

David is a master EOD technician, master training specialist, and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of the State of New York.

Jeff Trumbore published in National Defense Magazine

NDIA LogoJeff Trumbore’s article, “Combat Experience of Bomb-Disposal Teams Should Be Codified”, was publised in National Defense Magazine. Much of EOD’s success in the complex battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan came from learning on the fly and not from the application of existing doctrine. As the joint force faces complex conflicts in the future, EOD’s challenge is to identify an appropriate way to provide a solid foundation for preserving these skills and to provide commanders with the guidance required to effectively leverage these capabilities. R3 welcomes Adam Guziewicz

We are excited to have Adam Guziewicz join the R3 team.  He recently retired from the United States Navy after more than 27 years of service as a Special Operations Officer, Surface Warfare Officer and Master EOD Technician.  He has a diverse background in numerous functional areas including EOD, Mine Countermeasures, Training Management, Fiscal Management, Requirements Development and Homeland Defense.

Adam began his Navy career as a Surface Warfare Officer shortly after graduating from Maine Maritime Academy and receiving a Commission through the Maine Maritime Academy, Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps Scholarship Program.  After successfully performing duties as a Chief Engineer and Operations Officer, he transitioned to the Special Operations Warfare/Explosive Ordnance Disposal community.  He has held leadership positions at many levels including Commanding Officer of both EOD Training and Evaluation Unit ONE and Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal.

Adam’s staff tours include Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group ONE as Operations Officer, Commander Third Fleet as EOD/Mine Warfare/Diving & Salvage Officer, Chief of Naval Operations as EOD Requirements Officer and Navy representative to the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO), United States Northern Command as Current Operations Department Head and Command Center Director, and Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command as Deputy Director for MCM Training and Assessment.

Adam received his Bachelor of Science degree from Maine Maritime Academy, Master of Business Administration from National University, and is a graduate of the Tench Francis School of Business, Advanced Management Program.  His experience in integrating EOD, MCM, and Navy Expeditionary operations with the Joint, Combined, and Homeland Defense communities make him a great addition to R3.  We are thrilled to have Adam as a member of the team.
